Welcome
to the Monarch Bagpipe
Bag
website. Bagpipe bags have come a long way in their evolution from the
old animal hide bag to the new modern synthetic fabric bagpipe bags.
The Monarch Bagpipe Bag
is another step forward in that evolution.
The design and manufacturing techniques required to construct the Monarch Bagpipe Bag
have taken over two years to develop so that the final product gives
every piper the possibility to achieve excellent comfort, enhanced
tonal quality and very good bag life. These are the qualities you will
find in every one of the Monarch Bagpipe Bag designs.
The planned profile of the Monarch
Bagpipe Bag
is aimed at your comfort and you will appreciate just how good that
comfort is after playing one of these bags, whether it is a Monarch
Standard, Monarch Swan or a Monarch small pipe bag.
The Monarch Standard
bagpipe bag was designed in keeping with the piper who is accustomed to
the synthetic fabric and animal hide bags that were designed many years
ago and that are presently in the market place today. If you are one of
those pipers who like this older profile but find the neck awkward and
uncomfortable during playing, you will very much appreciate the new Monarch Standard
pipe bag. The neck of the Monarch
Standard
pipe bag has a well appointed goose neck, which is vertically
positioned and raised slightly, allowing you to adjust your chanter
stock for a better playing position.
This neck design and
adjustability of the chanter stock takes away the constant effort of
holding the chanter down towards your body while playing. This feature
gives you, the piper, less strain on your bag pressure arm and fingers.
You will have more comfort while playing and be able to give greater
attention to tune execution.
Our premium bagpipe bag is the Monarch
Swan.
This bag is well ahead in design of the older style synthetics and
animal hide bags. The advantage of this bag is its well proportioned
vertically positioned swan neck which allows you greater chanter
positioning, thereby affording you more comfort while playing.
The Monarch Small Pipe
bagpipe bag has all the attributes of the Monarch Standard
bagpipe bag but is smaller and has no grommets and zip. A zip can be
installed if you require it.
The
tonal qualities of your bagpipes is governed by various aspects of your
bagpipes construction, the reeds you choose, the tuning of the
instrument, how comfortable it is to play and the design and
construction of your bagpipe bag. The one item that is generally
overlooked by the piper is the bagpipe bag. Many prototypes were
designed, made and tested before the final selection was made and named
the Monarch Bagpipe Bag.
You can be confident that all these points have been addressed with the
final design of the Monarch Bagpipe Bag.
